Venice from the water

A singular experience
At Outlet Sweet Venice, we are pleased to offer our guests a trip on a classic Venetian boat, the Sanpierota.

The Sanpierota
For as long as anyone can remember, this traditional boat has been used by fishermen in the Venetian lagoon. These laborers came from San Pietro in Volta on the island of Pellestrina, from which this craft derives its name. Also known as the Sandolo di San Piero, the boat has flat sides that curve to a point. It originally measured approximately 7 meters in length and was constructed of larch or oak. This steady, sturdy, spacious craft is one of the few historic boats still in use in the Venetian lagoon.

Catch a glimpse of aquatic life during our journey from Mestre to Venice, taking in the countless varieties of flora and fauna and enjoying the incomparable scenery of the lagoon, as land and water merge in perfect harmony.

Approaching Venice from the water is an unparalleled experience. Wander through canals large and small, far from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. Perched atop our sanpierota on the water, the quintessential element of Venice, you will enjoy a magical, unforgettable experience.

The trip lasts approximately 2 hours.
